Meet EPOC’s Manufacturing Manager, Joerg Ziegler:

7 March 2022

Joerg Ziegler heads up the EPOC Enviro’s SAFF Manufacturing Pilot Plant at Emu Plains, Sydney, from where the company is taking its PFAS remediation technology to the world.
Wearing the title of ‘Manufacturing Manager Enviro’, Joerg is excited by the opportunity to develop the manufacturing arm of EPOC’s SAFF® technology, with plans afoot to complete one unit every five days.
“I am stoked to be a part of this initiative and to be involved from the ground up. The beauty of working for a company like EPOC is that people see the value of the end goal and we all work collectively to achieve it,” he said.
German-born Joerg has lived in Australia for over 20 years, having arrived Down Under with a solid background in robotics and automation.
One of his first roles was in Melbourne, where he oversaw critical quality for automotive manufacturer Denso. It was during Joerg’s time at Denso that he became accomplished in the LEAN Manufacturing method, which focuses on reducing waste and wait times and maximising productivity and physical output.
“Lean manufacturing is about looking at the operation as a whole and identifying ways to reduce waste, whilst improving competitiveness and cost efficiency.”

Joerg will be drawing from his previous experiences at both Sealy Posturepedic, as well as his position as Head of Supported Employment at Cerebral Palsy Alliance, in his approach to the overall management of the SAFF® manufacturing plant, where Joerg will work on a ‘just in time’ basis, establish an efficient workflow, and ensure an environment where safety is of the highest priority.
