The internship program runs for three months and is based out of our Emu Plains office in Western Sydney.
Applicants must have valid working rights in Australia to be considered for employment with EPOC Enviro.
The successful applicant will be immersed in an experienced multidisciplinary engineering team, who specialise in the design of bespoke containerised wastewater treatment plants.
During your internship, you will gain experience in the following areas:
- Working collaboratively in a team environment;
- Design of mechanical, structural and fluid storage and handling systems;
- Assistance in the creation of associated mechanical design documentation such as: design reports, functional descriptions, and specifications.
- Creation of quality documentation such as installation ITPs, commissioning plans, and Inspection and Test Reports;
- Solidworks – 3D CAD and AutoCAD
- Assisting with improving existing quality management processes;
- Assisting with improving existing safety management systems;
- Assisting with project documentation;
- Provide general engineering support as directed;
- Assisting in allocating Bill of Quantities for costing purposes;
- Engaging with subject matter experts as required;
- Reviewing clients designs for opportunities and omissions;
- Development of project drawings (general arrangement and detailed fabrication)
- Assistance in the development of process and instrumentation diagrams
Ideally the internship would be offered to a candidate who best matches the following criteria:
- Enthusiastic and proactive to provide input in a team environment;
- Strong acumen in mechanical system design, with an understanding of fluid dynamics & thermodynamics;
- Intermediate capability in both 3D modelling and 2D AutoCAD drafting; and
- Strong safety focus and commitment to compliance with regards company policy & procedures.
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong time management skills, including proven ability to prioritise work, manage competing tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience in liaising effectively with a variety of people at all levels of an organisation
- Strong IT skills, including experience in the use of computer software and systems (Microsoft Office, Office 365, etc)
