EPOC Enviro is seeking a Finance Director to build out and lead the Finance Department for our new U.S. operation based in North Carolina. The Finance Director will report to and work closely with the CEO and will ultimately be responsible for all financial matters of EPOC USA. The Finance Director will manage all financial operations and systems, ensuring that appropriate processes and controls are in place, and that all risks are managed and mitigated. The Finance Director must be able to adapt to a continually evolving environment and thrive in a deadline-oriented workplace, always performing to the highest standard.

Please note that this will be an evolving position with EPOC Enviro. As the first member of the finance team, the Finance Director will take on a variety of hands-on responsibilities initially but will delegate many of those responsibilities to other team members over time. This is not a remote position, however, EPOC is open to applicants looking to relocate to the North Carolina area. Please note, the Finance Director may be required to travel to Australia for 2-3 weeks of training.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The following represents a list of essential duties and responsibilities; other duties may be assigned as required.

  • Engage the CEO and Directors to develop short, medium, and long-term financial plans and projections
  • Build and manage the accounting and finance team
  • Participate in company policy development as a member of the senior management team
  • Oversee financial systems, policies, and protocols, striving for continuous improvement
  • Implement and refine financial interaction with suppliers, distributors and customers to optimize value creation
  • Coordinate the development and monitoring of budgets and financial forecasting, ensuring the budget for the year ahead is agreed before the end of each calendar year
  • Develop and utilize forward-looking, predictive models and activity-based financial analysis to provide insight into the organization’s operations and business plans
  • Calculate Internal Rate of Return for all current and future capital investments
  • Oversee cash, investment, and asset management
  • Ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures
  • Oversee finance strategies and activities, as well as banking relationships
  • Review and approve the preparation and finalization of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting materials and metrics for Company Directors
  • Review month-end reconciliations, accounting journals, and business activity statement (or equivalent)
  • Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and usefulness of financial reporting
  • Coordinate financial audits

Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment
  • At least 5 years of experience in senior management roles
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance; a Master’s Degree or MBA is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience implementing financial controls and new IT processes and systems
  • Comfortable hiring, training, and managing a team of accounting and finance professionals
  • In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Demonstrated experience in financial management and accounting, (incl. financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow modeling, audit, tax, and compliance obligations)
  • Ability to identify risk and possess an in-depth knowledge of risk management
  • Ability to prepare and present Financial Reports
  • Comfortable taking on both day-to-day tasks and high-level management responsibilities as the needs of the company evolve
  • A substantial level of competency with MS365 and MS Dynamics
  • Experience with Tulip MES or a similar MES system is a plus
